IN YOUR FREE REPORT
- 18 checks with supporting evidence
- A clear score across 5 categories
- Practical fixes for every failed check
Checks your homepage and discovery files (robots.txt, sitemap, llms.txt). Measures site readiness, not how often AI mentions your brand. The full report stays on this page; no email needed.
FROM DOMAIN TO DIAGNOSIS
A receipt.
Not a black box.
You shouldn’t need an SEO specialist to understand what’s working and what isn’t.
Enter a domain
No account needed. We fetch the home page live - robots.txt, llms.txt, sitemap, meta, structured data, headings - just as AI crawlers do.
18 checks run
Each check is deterministic: pass, warn or fail, with the exact rule it tests and the evidence we found. No scoring theatre.
Score plus every fix
A 0-100 score with an A-F grade. Every failing check ships a concrete fix you can action today. No vague recommendations.
THE METHODOLOGY
Five categories.
Nothing hidden.
A 100-point framework for how easily AI engines can access, interpret and quote your site.
Readiness is not a citation guarantee. A high score means your site meets these technical checks. Actual AI mentions require repeated measurement.

FOR A BUSINESS
One domain, watched every day.
Your prompts — the questions buyers actually type — are asked on four engines daily. You see how often you are mentioned and cited against the competitors you name, which sources the engines lean on in your category, and every fix ranked. Weekly re-scans email you the moment a check breaks.
FOR AN AGENCY
Twenty-five client domains, one login.
Each client gets its own prompts, competitors and sources. Reports carry your logo and name. Team seats with roles let account managers work their own clients, and an API key feeds the numbers into your own reporting.
How often each engine mentions you versus named competitors, with position and sentiment per mention.
Every rate carries n + 95% CI. Mentions ≠ citations. The prompts your buyers actually type, sampled on a schedule across every engine.
Sampled repeatedly - never one lucky run.The domains AI engines cite in your category - review sites, communities, editorial - and where you’re absent.
Computed from the same sample as share of voice.22 AI crawlers classified from your server logs, by bot, purpose, path and day.
Logs only - AI crawlers don’t run JS, so no pixel sees them.Weekly re-scans with change detection: score moves, check flips, crawler blocks.
Every move is logged. Email at ≥8 pts, a grade change, or a live-answer crawler newly blocked. How the statistics work
Every rate Monitor reports carries its sample size and a Wilson 95% confidence interval, and brand mentions are never conflated with citations. Sentiment is deterministic lexical scoring (method lexical-v1), not an LLM judgement. Crawler traffic is read from access logs you ship us - AI crawlers do not execute JavaScript, so no pixel or beacon can see them.
Four engines today: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini. Copilot, Grok and AI Overviews are next; they appear here the day their adapters are live, not before.
Cadence: the 18-check re-scan runs every Monday; AI-answer sampling (share of voice, prompts, sources) runs every day at 08:00 UTC. Your first AI-answer sample starts the moment payment clears and usually lands within a few minutes; if that run fails or hits its time budget, the daily run at 08:00 UTC finishes it, so within 24 hours either way. Until it lands the dashboard says “no sample yet” — it never shows a fabricated number. Re-scans, drift alerts and crawler analytics run from day one.

The 18 AI Visibility Checks Behind Your AI Readiness Score
Aura runs 18 deterministic checks in 5 categories to score AI search readiness. Every check, what it measures, what it does not predict, and how to pass it.
Why "You Appear in X% of AI Answers" Is a Statistically Dishonest Metric
Citation percentages from a single measurement run have no statistical validity. What honest AI citation measurement requires, and what you can measure today.
QUESTIONS
Straight answers.
- What is AI search visibility?
- AI search visibility is how well AI systems such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google's AI features can read, understand and cite your website when people ask relevant questions. It has two parts: whether they can access and interpret the site at all, and how often they actually mention or link it.
- How does Aura score my website?
- The free scan runs 18 deterministic checks in five categories: AI Crawler Access (30 points), Machine Discovery (15), Structured Data (20), Content Citability (25) and Technical Trust (10). The result is a 0-100 AI Readiness Score with an A-F grade. Each check is labelled as an access blocker, a general best practice or an optional convention, and checks that do not apply to a page are left out of its denominator.
- Does the free scan tell me what percentage of AI answers mention my brand?
- No. A percentage from one run is not a rate, because AI answers vary from run to run. The free scan measures site readiness only. Repeated sampling of real AI answers, reported with sample sizes and 95% confidence intervals, is what Monitor does.
- Which AI crawlers does Aura check in robots.txt?
- 22 crawlers, including GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and ChatGPT-User (OpenAI); ClaudeBot, Claude-User and Claude-SearchBot (Anthropic); PerplexityBot and Perplexity-User; Google-Extended, GoogleOther and Googlebot; Bingbot and MicrosoftPreview; DuckAssistBot, CCBot, Amazonbot, Applebot-Extended, Bytespider, Grok-Bot, meta-externalagent, cohere-ai and MistralAI-User. Crawlers that answer live questions carry more weight than training-only crawlers.
- What is GEO, Generative Engine Optimization?
- GEO is the practice of structuring a website so AI systems can accurately read, understand and cite it. It builds on ordinary SEO with signals AI tools use: clear page structure, accurate structured data, discovery files such as a sitemap, and factual content that is easy to attribute.
- What is AEO, Answer Engine Optimization?
- AEO is optimising content to be the source an answer engine cites when someone asks a question in your field. It favours structured, factual, clearly attributed content over marketing copy.
