Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: 3 September 2026
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do with Aura AI Visibility. It forms part of our Terms of Service. The scanner fetches publicly accessible resources of the domains you submit; using it responsibly protects both the sites being scanned and the Service itself.
1. Permitted use
- Scanning domains you own or operate.
- Scanning domains you are authorised to assess — for example, a client who has engaged your agency.
- Reasonable competitive research on any public domain, using only the publicly visible score and report. The scanner requests the same public files an AI crawler would and respects the site's own rate limits; it is not a load test.
2. Prohibited use
- Using the Service to harass, target or build profiles of private individuals.
- Automated, scripted or bulk scanning intended to overload the Service or the scanned sites, or to circumvent rate limits.
- Attempting to access non-public areas of any site through the scanner, or using it as a proxy, port scanner or vulnerability scanner. The Service reads public pages, robots.txt, sitemaps and structured data — nothing else.
- Reselling, sublicensing or white-labelling the Service outside the features of your tier.
- Reverse engineering the scoring engine or scraping the Service itself.
- Submitting content or domains that are unlawful, or using the Service in violation of any applicable law.
- Misrepresenting report results, or presenting altered reports as generated by Aura AI.
3. Rate limits and fair use
The free tier is intended for interactive, human-initiated scans. We may apply rate limits, require verification, or suspend access where usage patterns suggest abuse. Paid tiers include the usage volumes described on the pricing section.
4. Enforcement
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or notify authorities where appropriate. We will act proportionately and, where practical, give you a chance to remedy the issue first.
5. Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is misusing the Service — including scanning your domain in a way that causes problems — report it via the Contact page (topic "Report abuse", with the domain and what you observed) and we will investigate. Site owners who want their public results page removed can ask the same way; we delete the stored report on request.
